Technology Built For Public Safety.
LEFCON provides CJIS-certified managed IT, cybersecurity, network infrastructure, and surveillance solutions for police departments, fire stations, and EMS agencies. We understand public safety from the inside — the operational demands, the compliance requirements, and what it means when systems fail.
We Understand Public Safety From The Inside.
Most IT companies learn about their clients’ industries from the outside. LEFCON’s founder Jim Lefcakis served as a paramedic for 32 years. He knows what a dispatch center looks like at 3am. He knows what happens when a CAD system goes down during a mass casualty event. He knows what public safety agencies actually need from their technology partner — because he lived it.
That background shaped how LEFCON approaches public safety technology. We don’t treat police departments, fire stations, and EMS agencies like ordinary business clients. We understand the operational demands, the sensitivity of the data involved, the compliance requirements, and the human consequences when systems fail.
LEFCON is CJIS certified — meaning our security practices meet the FBI’s requirements for organizations that access or support criminal justice information systems. When you work with LEFCON, you’re working with a partner who has earned the right to be in the room.
CJIS Certified
LEFCON meets the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services security policy — the federal standard required for any IT provider working with law enforcement agencies that handle criminal justice data.
Jim Lefcakis — 32-Year Paramedic
LEFCON’s founder served as a paramedic for 32 years before building the company. That operational background is reflected in how we approach every public safety engagement — with the urgency, discretion, and accountability that first responders demand.
PulsePoint — Butler County
In 2024, LEFCON funded the first year of app licensing to launch PulsePoint Respond in Butler County — a 911-integrated app that alerts CPR-trained citizens to nearby cardiac emergencies in public areas.
The Same Standard We Bring To Hotels — For Public Safety.
Every service LEFCON delivers to hotels and commercial clients is available to public safety agencies — under CJIS-compliant security practices, with the same 24/7/365 NOC support.
Public Safety Organizations That Trust LEFCON
LEFCON serves police departments, fire stations, and EMS agencies across Western Pennsylvania and beyond. Our team has real relationships with the agencies we support — not just contracts.
Additional agency references available upon request. Public safety client relationships are handled with appropriate discretion.
Why CJIS Certification Matters For Your Agency
The FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy sets the minimum security standards for any agency or vendor that accesses criminal justice information — including fingerprint data, criminal histories, stolen property records, and related sensitive data.
Any IT provider with access to a law enforcement agency’s systems is required to be CJIS compliant. Working with a non-certified provider is not just a risk — it is a potential violation of federal policy that can result in loss of access to CJIS systems.
LEFCON holds CJIS certification. Our engineers have completed the required training. Our security practices meet the policy’s requirements. When you choose LEFCON as your IT partner, you’re choosing a provider that has done the work to earn that certification — not one asking you to take their word for it.
CJIS Security Awareness Training certified — renewed annually.
